Coatings adhesion measurement

The critical load Lc, defined as the load where film flaking starts, is determined by optical microscope examination of the scratch traces.


Test conditions:
-indenter – 0.2 mm radius diamond Rockwell tip,
-load – continuous increase from 0 to 100 N,
-scratching speed – 10 mm/min, scratching distance – 10 mm.
